Atlanta sizzles with family fun this month, starting with 4th of July fireworks and continuing with free concerts, shows and festivals!
We kick off July with a bang through lots of opportunities to celebrate our independence like Look Up, Atlanta in Centennial Olympic Park on July 3. Cue more fireworks, parades, and festivals in lots of suburbs on July Fourth. We’ve got the full list right here: Where to See 4th of July Fireworks in Atlanta.
When you’re longing for some air-conditioned fun with the kids, look to Atlanta’s amazing theaters and museums. Head to the Center for Puppetry Arts for the adorable musical, The Little Pirate Mermaid, playing all month long. Roswell’s got its popular Summer Puppet Series with a new show each week. (We’re especially excited about “The Squirrel Stole My Underpants” July 12-16!) We are always big fans of Fernbank Museum of Natural History, but especially on July 16 for Reptile Day.
Since there are plenty of weeks of summer left, we’ve got plenty of ideas for how to make the most of them. Check out our guide to Fun and Free Summer Activities and Events Near Atlanta, which includes info about outdoor concerts with the fam and awesome family-friendly summer day trips.
